CKC Canine Good Neighbour evaluations
The Canine Good Neighbour program evaluates the skills dogs need for everyday life. As a CKC-certified evaluator, Brittany Kelsall works with kennel clubs, breed clubs, trainers, pet stores, and community organizations to host evaluations across the Lower Mainland.
What does an evaluation actually look like?
The evaluation follows the CKC's standardized test items and is designed to assess practical skills in a calm, supportive environment.
A calm introduction
Every evaluation begins with a brief meet-and-greet so both dog and handler can settle in before testing begins.
Everyday manners
Dogs are evaluated on practical skills such as polite greetings, grooming acceptance, handling, and walking on leash.
Real-world distractions
The test measures how dogs respond to common situations, including other dogs, strangers, and unexpected distractions.
Recognition of achievement
Dogs who successfully complete the evaluation earn their Canine Good Neighbour certificate through the Canadian Kennel Club.
